Vice Minister Ma Attends the Tree Planting and Donation of Multinational Corporations to Beijing Olympics

The activity of tree planting and donation to Beijing Olympics of was held by multinational corporations in Beijing Olympic Forest Park on May 9. 16 global corporations including Siemens, Motorola, Amway, etc. donated RMB 1.05 million yuan to the Beijing Olympic Games.

Vice Minister of Commerce Ma Xiuhong, Vice Mayor of Beijing Cheng Hong, and Secretary of the Communist Party District Committee of Beijing’s Chaoyang District Chen Gang were present at the activity. Ma expressed at the donation and tree-planting ceremony that the Green Olympics is one of the three conceptions of Beijing Olympics. China has always persisted in organizing the games in the spirit of sustainable development which is characterized by environmental protection, resources conservation and protection of ecological balance. Meanwhile, China shall extensively develop the publicity and education of environmental protection, advocate the green and healthy way of living and consumption, promote the infrastructure construction of environmental protection in Beijing and China at large, and improve the ecological environment. Ma said that this activity has fully embodied that the multinational corporations are, with their practical action, supporting the Olympics and public-benefit social activities, and fulfiling their social responsibility.
